The Aboriginal Health major in the Bachelor of Health Sciences provides students with the practical skills and the theoretical knowledge needed for work in the field of Aboriginal health. Major topics include: traditional Aboriginal health concepts, contemporary issues in Aboriginal health, community development, nutrition, and cultural issues. The Aboriginal Health major includes a full-semester practicum placement where students will work closely with professionals in the field. Students may be required to travel to practicum placements outside of the Lethbridge area. Successful completion of the Aboriginal Health major in the four-year baccalaureate program earns the student a Bachelor of Health Sciences (B.H.Sc.) degree.
