Emergency Management

Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

The Emergency Management (EMGT) Program is a comprehensive, distance delivered program that will provide students with a fundamental understanding of the opportunities and challenges in this dynamic, rapidly growing field. Practitioners in this area need to have both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in order to effectively mitigate against the risk of harm or loss for industry, public sector, community, individuals and government.

The Emergency Management diploma is designed to meet the needs of students new to the field of study as well as mature students with significant experience in one of the many arms of Emergency Management. NAIT has created a flexible learning pathway with some of the EMGT courses being available as open study courses, multiple intakes throughout the academic year and with all courses being directly transferable from the certificate to the diploma program for those students who choose the additional credentialing. This program is currently 100% online.
