Play a vital role in health care with a Medical Device Reprocessing certificate. Built around the concepts required to shine in this detail-driven field, our Medical Device Reprocessing program prepares you to write either the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management exam or the Canadian Standards Association exam to become a Certified Registered Central Service Technician. In approximately 26 weeks, you'll learn the science behind and the techniques required for the precise skills of hospital instrument sterilization. During a work-integrated learning opportunity, you'll hone your skills and understanding of what it takes to play an essential role in health care as a medical device reprocessing technician.

Admission Requirements

High School Diploma with ELA 30-2, ELA 30-1 or equivalent such as RDP ENGL 090 or 095; or

19 years of age or older with ELA 30-2 or equivalent such as RDP ENGL 090, or completion of a post-secondary English course, or a placement assessment; or

completion of at least 3 post-secondary credit courses within the past 5 years.

Note: Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English Language proficiency.

In Program Requirements: Students must complete a 400 hour work-integrated learning experience.

This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Alberta Student Aid for the funding year 2023/08/01 to 2024/07/31*.
