Question
Look for Work

“I’ve been working in the oil field. What else can I do?”

Answer

If you are ready for a change you might want to start by looking at related occupations in your current field.

For example, if you worked as a Truck Driver in the oil industry you might consider working as a Well Service Equipment Operator. You can use your skills and experience to move to a related job.

If you want to change your current field of work, consider a job where you can put to use some of the core skills you already have.

Use the resources and exercises at Alberta’s Evolving Energy Industry. They can help you figure out which sectors and occupations give you the best chance of using your existing skills in a new industry.
