Develop essential skills and become proficient in a variety of business specializations. Learn from faculty with real related-work experience while completing practical, industry-relevant coursework. Our class sizes are small, so you'll get to know your classmates as you work in teams to develop and deliver projects, present strategies, solve challenges, and find opportunities to meet business goals based on real-world scenarios. You'll start with a foundational first year to build core business skills, then specialize in one of six majors in year two. Accounting Develop fundamental accounting skills and understand how to analyze an organization's financial performance. Learn how to manage money, understand financial statements, calculate taxes, evaluate investments and help clients make wise financial choices. Financial Services Prepare to enter a career in financial planning, investment advising, insurance, trust management or compliance. Our Financial Services graduates know how to provide effective financial guidance and services to individuals and organizations. You'll have the option to complete the Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) mutual funds licensing exam. Human Resource (HR) Management Learn the necessary skills to support organizations in talent recruitment, training, payroll and HR management. Learn about employment laws, regulations and HR standards and how to collect and analyze data to improve organizational effectiveness. Management Bring out your inner entrepreneur by learning how to run a business effectively. Develop your understanding of operations, supply chain, marketing, and business management strategies. Gain practical experience in project management with common theories and tools. Graduates are ready to pursue Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and Canadian Institute of Management (CIM) certifications. Marketing Build a solid marketing skillset with training in content creation, digital analytics, public relations, media, sales, promotions and events. Learn to conduct environmental scans, create consumer journey maps, and identify opportunities to meet consumer needs in business-to-business (B2C) and business-to-consumer (B2C) environments. Supply Chain Management Learn to maintain and support efficient supply chain processes, a critical component of all industries. You'll understand how to follow regulatory guidelines and uphold ethical practices to support sustainable business operations. You'll get practical expertise with supply chain technology management systems, learning how to use data to make informed decisions. Learn in real-world scenarios You'll complete your studies with a collaborative capstone project, working with classmates from all majors to address a challenge faced by a local business or organization. You'll work together as a team to investigate and analyze the problem before presenting a solution to company representatives. Upon graduation, you'll have the in-demand skills required to start your career in business, with the option to continue your education by transferring into our Bachelor of Business Administration and earning your degree with a further two years of study.
