Admission Requirements
A mandatory interview with the institution is required to determine whether the student is suitable for the program. Standard Admission Students must meet ONE of the following criteria: 1. Alberta high school diploma, verified by transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent. - High School diplomas that are not from Canada must be verified by IQAS or the World Education Services Gateway Program. OR 2. Successful completion of the General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D) Mature Admission Students must meet the following criteria: 1. Be 18 years or older. 2. Must complete an academic achievement test to demonstrate required competency - Wonderlic (minimum passing mark 18) English Language Admission Requirement Students must meet the English language requirements through ONE of the following: 1. Successful Completion of Grade 12 Alberta Education English Language Arts, or non-Alberta equivalent. (High School diplomas that are not from Canada will be verified by IQAS or the World Education Services Gateway Program.) 2. Transcripts demonstrating the successful completion of, at minimum, one year (two semesters) of full-time post-secondary education at a school where English was the primary language of instruction in a recognized nation where English is the primary language of instruction. 3. Students whose primary language is not English must have a C.L.B. level of 7. The following tests will be used to test C.L.B. levels.  IELTS - 6  CELPIP - 7  CAEL - 60  Pearson Academic (P.T.E.) - 51-58  Duolingo - 95 PRACTICUM OR CAPSTONE PROJECT 1. Successful completion of coursework: Before beginning the practicum/capstone, students need to have successfully completed relevant coursework and score 70% or higher-grade average. 2. Criminal background check: If medical facility requires a clear criminal record than it needs to be completed. 3. Duration: The length of the practicum is 4 weeks and covers 100 hours. 4. Final Evaluation: At the end of the practicum/Capstone, the student's performance is evaluated, often based on criteria like professionalism, skill competency, and interactions with patients and staff.
