Losing a job is one of the most stressful things a person can face. But taking care of a few important tasks in the first few weeks can protect you and help you feel more in control of your situation.

The first step is to break things out into manageable pieces.

  • Copy 1 goal that you identified and paste it into the field labelled “goal.”
  • Break each goal into smaller steps: these are the tasks you need to complete to achieve your goal.
  • Figure out when you'll achieve each task.
  • Add as many tasks as you need to complete your larger goal.
  • Print or email your action plan.
  • Repeat the steps above for each goal you identified.
